Colorado Facts
Colorado was the thirty-eighth state to be admitted to the union. Colorado residents are known as Coloradans or Coloradoans.
Colorado has the highest mean elevation of any state, with more than 1,000 Rocky Mountain peaks measuring over 10,000 feet high. The thirteenth step of the State Capitol Building in Denver is exactly one mile above sea level.
Famous people from Colorado include comedian and Home Improvement actor Tim Allen, boxer Jack Dempsey, actor Douglas Fairbanks, singer Jaye P. Morgan, astronaut M. Scott Carpenter, silent film star Lon Chaney, and blacklisted “Hollywood Ten” screenwriter Dalton Trumbo.

Where is Colorado?
Can you find Colorado on the United States map? Hint: Colorado is a landlocked state bordered by Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Colorado is one of the “Four Corners” states, which includes New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. Colorado touches Arizona, but these two states do not share a border.
