Rocky Mountain Columbine
Colorado State Flower
The Rocky Mountain Columbine was designated the official Colorado State Flower in 1899. While there are many species of columbines, this particular white and lavender bloom was chosen by Colorado’s school children to represent the unique beauty of their state. Delicate blue-violet petals symbolize the sky, white petals represent snow, and the gold centers pay tribute to Colorado’s gold mining history.
