Apple Blossom
Arkansas State Flower
The apple blossom was adopted as the official Arkansas State Flower by the General Assembly of 1901. Arkansas was once known as “The Land of the Big Red Apple.” Indeed, more than 400 varieties were once grown throughout the state. Juicy Arkansas apples won blue ribbons at the Chicago Exposition of 1893 and the Paris Exposition of 1900. While no longer an important cash crop, the apple remains a sentimental favorite with Arkansas residents.
